Datago Chinese Newspaper Analytic Database (CNAD)

Database Introduction

Datago Chinese Press News Analytics includes all news related to A-shares (and B-shares) of all listed companies since 1998, guided by academic research from institutions such as the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Stanford University, and the University of Southern California. It uses analysis techniques and related data authorized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and in combination with industry-leading machine learning and natural language processing technologies, rigorously cleans, analyzes and verifies tens of millions of original news articles collected.

This database effectively addresses the matching of news with target companies and provides the quantitative sentiment orientation of company news and the timeliness of news itself in accordance with strict academic standards. Designed based on internationally mature data platforms such as RavenPack and Thomson Reuters, it analyzes tens of millions of original news articles from over 1,000 domestic and foreign newspapers and media outlets since 1998. Using a professional data annotation foundation of over 1 million items spanning over 6 years, and industry-leading machine learning and natural language processing technologies, it outputs the only continuous quantified public sentiment rating, related company and correlation ratings, similarity ratings with historical news spanning up to four weeks, news hotness, and originality indicators in the market.
