Oxford Reference Online (Trial)

Database Introduction

Oxford Reference is the premier online reference product, spanning 25 different subject areas, bringing together 2 million digitized entries across Oxford University Press's Dictionaries, Companions and Encyclopedias.

It includes two sub-libraries: Oxford Quick Reference and Oxford Reference Library.

Oxford Quick Reference

A core foundation of 160+ academic, short-entry dictionaries, best for checking a fact. A monthly updating program checks and revises articles for top levels of accuracy and timeliness and new titles/editions are released regularly throughout the year. Exclusive online-only dictionaries are also available.

Oxford Reference Library

Hundreds of in-depth, specialized titles from Oxford University Press's award-winning Encyclopedias and Companions, plus a selection of partner publishers'works. New titles and editions are added throughout the year, as they publish in print. Each title is available through title-by-title purchase (which allows institutions to build collections with the subjects they need). Best for conducting more comprehensive research on a specific topic, drawing from in-depth articles.

Period of Validity: March 4, 2024 - May 3, 2024.
