Pacific Rim Research Libraries Alliance (PRRLA) member libraries visited SUSTech Library

On October 19, 43 representatives of member libraries attending the Pacific Rim Research Libraries Alliance (PRRLA) 2023 Annual Meeting came to the Southern University of Science and Technology Library for a visit and exchanges.

The representatives came from well-known research university libraries in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong and mainland China.

Mr. Henry E, Library Director of SUSTech accompanied the representatives to visit the Yidan Library and the Learning Nexus, and presented presented copies of the book The Beauty of a Library: the Spaces and Special Collections of SUSTech Library as gifts to each member library.

As a regional and professional organization, PRRLA is the best platform for research university libraries in the Pacific Rim to exchange and cooperate. The Southern University of Science and Technology Library joined PRRLA in December 2019 and became the tenth member library of the alliance in mainland China. At this 2023 annual meeting of the alliance, Du Juan, senior librarian of SUSTech Library, gave a report titledDriving The Creation Of Special Digital Collections In Collaboration With Researchers on behalf of our library. The report focuses on what has been done with own digital resources development at SUSTech Library, which was well received and highly regarded by the participants of the meeting.
