Database Introduction

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the world’s largest aerospace technical society. Created in 1963 by the merger of the two great aerospace societies of the day, the American Rocket Society (founded in 1930 as the American Interplanetary Society), and the Institute of the Aerospace Sciences (established in 1933 as the Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences), AIAA carries forth a proud tradition of more than 80 years of aerospace leadership. Publications include Journals, Magazines, Books, and Standards. With nearly 30,000 individual members from 91 countries, and 95 corporate members today, AIAA brings together industry, academia, and government to advance engineering and science in aviation, space, and defense. AIAA Journals and Meeting Papers are available online in Aerospace Research Central (ARC).

The Library has subscribed to:

1)Meeting Papers: 1963–current. Every year, AIAA publishes approximately 6,000 papers from AIAA’s Forums and supported conferences. Covering every aspect of aerospace. 

2)AIAA Journals: 1963–current. Eight peer-reviewed current journals and two discontinued journals.
