Database Introduction

JoVE is a top global publisher with the largest collection of experimental videos in life sciences and medical research. It is near renowned institutions like Harvard, MIT, Tufts, and Boston University. Founded in 2006, JoVE launched the Journal of Visualized Experiments, which showcases research methods and findings in biology, medicine, chemistry, physics, and related fields through high-quality video demonstrations.

Combining academic publishing with professional video production, JoVE employs an international team of skilled videographers for recording, editing, and post-production. An expert editorial board oversees manuscript editing, rigorous peer review, and final publication. Each JoVE video article undergoes a thorough 100% peer review, including editorial assessment, animal welfare committee review (for animal studies), and external expert review. This multi-tiered process ensures scientific accuracy and educational value.

By 2025, the JoVE Experimental Videos Journal will offer 13 discipline-specific collections, featuring over 25,000 videos and articles in biology, medicine, physics, chemistry, environmental science, and more. Life sciences experimental videos, in particular, have drawn significant interest from researchers and scholars.
