On May 15, 2020, on behalf of SUSTech Library, Ms. Feiyan Huang, Assistant Director was invited to participate in Virtual Town Hall held by Wayne State University Libraries. The conference was aimed to share the experiences facing the difficulties and challenges caused by the epidemic, with focus on how to provide online services and user usage, policies and measures to safeguard staff and patrons’ health.

More than 70 librarians from Wayne State University Libraries joined this online meeting and expressed their sincere thanks to librarians from China for sharing their work and experience. Below is a comment made by one of the American librarians:

I learned so much from our guests that will be helpful to us as we move forward. The fact that all is going so well for their libraries gives me hope that we will be able to achieve our re-opening goals.

At present, China is gradually recovering from the epidemic. Through sharing our work experience with international colleagues, it is helpful to jointly fight against COVID-19, our common enemy. The virus goes across borders. Only by cooperating and responding together can the international community overcome this pandemic.

In addition to our library, the University of Macau Library and the Library of Zhejiang Normal University were also invited to participate in the conference.
