The library provides the service of Recommend a Purchase to meet users’ need. You are welcome to recommend books, journals or other resources to be added to the library’s collection. Please fill in the following form or send email to firstname.lastname@example.org to recommend a Purchase and we will try our best to satisfy your needs. Please be kindly reminded that your recommendation will be accepted only if it is in line with the Collection Development Policy of the library.
To make a recommendation, please do the following:
1.Please search in SUSTech Search or the databases the library subscribes to, and make sure the library does not have it in the collection.
2.When filling in the form, please provide accurate information as much as you can, including title, author, ISBN/ISSN, publisher, publication year and recommending reasons, so that the librarian can process smoothly and quickly.
3.The library will consider your recommendation according to the Collection Development Policy of the library and our annual collection development plan as well as the budget.
(1) Recommending Printed Books
The library should give priority to the book suppliers winning bid. Generally, it takes 6 weeks for Chinese books and 4-6 months for foreign-language books from the time of book ordering to book shelving. If you need the book urgently, please make note in Recommending Reason that it is urgent and give your reason. The library will purchase through online bookstores, which generally takes 1-2 weeks. This expediting process only applies to users recommendation for an item due to limited funds.

(2) Recommending Journals and Databases
Journals and databases are resources requiring continuous budget, which are usually expensive, so we only accept recommendation by faculty. If students need to recommend, please ask his/her teacher to submit recommendation.
(3) Recommending an Ebook
Readers can recommend a foreign e-book. Please refer to ProQuest Ebook Central.
